PGDM is the flagship course provided by Ishan Institute of Management & Technology. The course is designed to develop the students as professional managers with the strong conceptual fundamentals and skills required to manage businesses of tomorrow, while giving them the vision to determine what the future will be.

This program is a two year, full time, residential program. The first year students are exposed to basic concept in the areas of Marketing, Finance, Personnel Management and Human Resources Management, Quantitative methods, Operations and Behavioral Sciences through the ‘core courses’. These lay the foundation for all the functional areas of Management help develop problem solving skills. This is further followed with the practical exposure that the students get from the Summer Internship Programme in the corporate sector.

In the second year, students specialize in functional areas of their interest. Students can go for a Dual Specialization or Major and Minor. There is greater emphasis on the application of knowledge gained in the form of projects, group exercises and case discussions, periodic evaluations and demanding academic schedules which finally differentiates the manager of IIMT with the rest ones.

During the last two decades, the nation and the world have seen drastic changes taking place in the business environment. In this context the function of marketing has assumed a new significance as it acquires a large scale competitive advantage for organization.

Understanding this, the Institute offers a two-year full time, residential Programme in Marketing Management on the completion of which, students are awarded Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management. It is business discipline focused on the practical application of marketing techniques and the management of a firm’s marketing resources and activities.

Growing liberalization, globalization and privatization in developing economies like India have created situations where international managers have to look for new innovations and creative strategies in order to meet the competitive threats positively and effectively and carve a niche for oneself.

Global Business Management in today’s world is full of prospects as well as problems. The parameters of the same need to be analysed and evaluated. Then we can speak of International Finance, International Marketing, International Negotiations International Legality and Ethics, International Management of multi cultural staff.

The critical component of economic environment of business can be readapted and rephrased in the international context. One needs to begin by having a conceptual framework of International business which have different forms and facts. Given the perspective of the emerging international economic environment, the challenges of global business management can be identified, analyzed and appreciated. Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM)

The financial Sector in India has seen substantial changes over the past decades. India is moving rapidly towards capital account convertibility. Companies and individuals access to funds have changed dramatically. Domestic (and, to a limited extent, foreign) capital markets are now relatively freely accessible. Increased availability and use of derivatives allow fine-tuning of terms of financing. The financial markets have become much more transparent and efficient. The regulation and financial intermediaries are changing. Regulations now focus on risks and management of risks return than on producers. Instruments such as swaps and credit derivatives, techniques such as value at risk and yield curve modeling regulatory innovations such as basing capital adequacy norms on market and credit risk, did not exist before the 0980 but have now become the norms.

Further, the practice of finance has evolved rapidly as a result of these changes. Finance today involves evaluating and using instrument, markets and methodologies different from those prevailing just a few years earlier.

Today’s practitioner should also be equipped to analyse and evaluate developments that are bound to occur in the years to come. In addition, the peculiarities of the Indian and other emerging markets mean that tools and techniques need to be adopted or developed before they can be used effectively. At the same time subject of Financial Management is undergoing rapid changes with the shift in emphasis from raising funds to best utilization of limited funds.

The finance executive is not in a passive role of just a scorekeeper of the accounting information and arranging funds, rather he occupies an important role in the complex management problems.
